Eva is a Muscle Ninja, on a mission to break your patterns of tension, stress and chronic discomfort, while creating a healing space to let go and feel cared for. Her gratitude for this work shows up in her sessions - empathetic, caring, present and curious. She honors you and holds you as her focus for the entire time you are together.
Eva's background in yoga and gymnastics set a foundation of body awareness, movement and what we are capable of. She brings this into her practice as a bodyworker, which spans over 10 years. Her investigation of the healing arts and personal awareness began over 20 years ago, motivated by the desire to heal herself. Exploring the body, mind and emotional connection, ignited a curiosity of how physical and/or emotional trauma can get physically trapped in the body causing long-term pain and/or holding patterns. Eva wholeheartedly incorporates her knowledge and personal experience into her life practice as a source of love and inspiration for herself others.
Eva is trained in: Deep Flow Massage, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Joint Release, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Thai Massage, Aromatherapy, Sports Massage, Wellness Coaching and Yoga

“I believe a healers work is the path to heal one’s self, and in doing so can help to facilitate another’s healing process through experience and compassion.”

I love that the style of bodywork I do is gentle and takes a whole-body approach. My favorite part of giving a session is caring for someone else. It feels like such an honor to be able to hold space for another beings healing process and allow them to feel held.

I offer a type of Body Work called Rebalancing. Based off Rolfing, Feldenkrais, Esalen, Trager and Shiatsu therapies, Rebalancing incorporates Intuitive Touch, Deep Tissue, Joint Release techniques, Breath work and may consist of various acupressure points as well as energy healing.

I have been practicing massage for the past 5 years. I have also integrated this practice with other modalities I have learned such as; Swedish Relaxation and Myofascial Release techniques. Over the years I have learned many things about the body through my own experience as well as feed back from clients and courses I have taken. By starting my sessions with guided deep breathing, I allow an energetic conversation to happen with my own body as well as my clients body before making physical contact. This allows me to intuitively feel where the body wants contact first as well as allows my clients system to be relaxed and receptive to touch. Through my own experience I have come to strongly believe that not all tension is physical. Some tension can also be caused by unexpressed emotions stored in areas of the body.

I started my bodywork journey in Chang Mai, Thailand, where I took a 2-day Thai Massage workshop. I continued to Koh Phangan where I practiced yoga for a month and completed my Level 1 Reiki. After this trip I knew that I wanted to further pursue bodywork.
I began my massage training once I was back in Nelson BC, through, Clear Heart Bodywork (Rebalancing) in 2013. I then started to work at Wild Woods Yoga & Wellness. I spent 4 years working there. First just as a bodyworker and then eventually after completing my 200 hr YTT in Tulum 2016 I began teaching. I also took a 50 hr Yin Yoga Training in 2017 during my time at Wild Woods as well as taken a few Bio dynamic Cranial Sacral Seminars through Body Intelligence. I have completed my Level 2 Reiki just last winter 2018 and I spent 3 weeks working at Last Frontier Heliskiing in Stewart BC this February 2019, and I have been working at HÄLSA for the past year.

My passion towards becoming a bodyworker ignited one sunny afternoon while I was giving Free Hugs in downtown Vancouver. I had started the Vancouver Free Hugs movement years earlier out of a genuine desire for establishing meaningful connections with others. I soon realized how even a simple, heartfelt hug could have a deep impact on the emotional and physical well-being of myself and those receiving. This began my journey in exploring the many benefits of physical touch through massage and bodywork at Vancouver School of Healing Arts.
Through the intensive training, I acquired valuable skills in relaxation massage, deep tissue, reflexology and aromatherapy, as well as a strong foundation in human sciences.

My style of bodywork is unique and personalized with each client, but the one quality that remains consistent within all treatments is providing a very safe and comforting space where the body and soul can rest and rejuvenate, thus reaching profound relaxation and tranquility.

Shayda’s journey in bodywork and massage began with a deep desire to understand her own body, and to discover how to cultivate a healthy physical life. She had a prolonged injury for many years, had tried other therapies, but over time the same symptoms would always resurface. What she discovered through receiving bodywork and through her bodywork training was a therapy that gave her the relief she had deemed impossible, and a new-found freedom in all areas of her life. This holistic approach to understanding the body lit a fire inside of her to help others discover new levels of health and healing.

Shayda’s specialty is creating freedom in the body’s tissues through deep tissue fascial work, as well as harmonizing energy flow in the body, emotions, and mind by working with pressure points and the breath. Her aim is to go on a journey with her clients- to discover where there could be more freedom and to venture there together.

Shayda is trained in: Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Joint Release, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, and Swedish. She is a certified Bodywork Therapist and an Advanced Shiatsu Practitioner from Vancouver School of Healing Arts.
