My passion for healing was ignited in her early teens when I first visited a Naturopathic Doctor who opened my eyes to the potential of healing through food. From there, I became curious about food, our connection to it, and its role in healing ailments. From a young age, I suffered from allergies, digestive issues, and poor immunity. As I embarked into my teen years, these issues grew into acne, depression, anxiety, and terrible digestive discomfort. In my early twenties, I developed an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto’s. It’s no secret that all of these imbalances are linked, not only to the food I was putting into my body, but also to the thoughts and emotions I was dealing with on a daily basis.
I am an avid believer that food plays a vital role in one’s well being, however, without other forms of self care, and awareness of the mind, body, spirit connection many conditions can transform into long standing stubborn illnesses. We must remember that everything we do, believe, and feel affects us, as well as the people around us.
